With a long tradition of service in mid-Missouri, Boone Hospital Center recently completed a series of renovations and expansions to prepare for the future of health care. The hospital’s eight-story new patient tower has 128 private patient rooms designed around the concept of patient-centered care. Everything in the tower is designed to promote healing and continue Boone Hospital’s long tradition as a leading health care provider for the people of mid-Missouri.
The 400-bed hospital is an important regional referral center for 26 counties in mid-Missouri and offers a wide range of specialty services and cutting edge technology. Boone Hospital is known for its services in cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetrical services and numerous other specialties.
In recent years, the Boone Hospital has garnered national accolades for its quality care. In 2004, 2010 and 2011 the hospital was named as one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals. The American Nurses Credentialing Center has also twice designated Boone Hospital as a Magnet hospital, recognizing the outstanding nursing practices at the hospital. Boone Hospital is also preparing to mark its 90th year of service in 2011. The hospital first opened on Dec. 10, 1921.
In addition to opening the new patient tower, Boone Hospital has been working to enhance care units throughout the facility. The hospital’s Boone Family Birthplace was recently remodeled and expanded with rave reviews. New parents of “Boone Babies” enjoy the warm, natural colors and modern rooms that many say remind them more of a hotel or spa than a hospital room. Boone Hospital’s Emergency Department also recently underwent a major expansion and renovation.
