In 2012, Alton Memorial Hospital (AMH) celebrated 75 years of caring for the community and providing the best care close to home. AMH is a JACHO-accredited, full service hospital licensed for 206 beds serving the River Bend area of southwestern Illinois minutes away from St. Louis, MO. The hospital offers a wide range of quality health care services including a cath lab, Open MRI and 3T MRI, CT services, PET imaging, nuclear medicine and other advanced all-digital medical imaging, as well as neurology services and the most technologically advanced medical and radiation oncology in the market.

AMH has a complete surgery center utilized by specialists in Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Pain Management. Other areas within the hospital include a 12-bed ICU, a large physical, speech and occupational therapy center, Wound Care Center with Hyperbaric chambers, inpatient and outpatient senior psych units and a 22-bed skilled nursing and rehab unit. It has the region’s only hospital-based ambulance services, and operates a 24-hour emergency center seeing over 42,000 patients annually. The 80-acre campus also contains a 62-bed nursing home, 100-bed assisted living facility and two Medical Office Buildings making access to specialists convenient for patients. In 2012, AMH was accredited by JACHO as the first Primary Stroke Center in Illinois’s Region 5 and was ranked #1 in the State of Illinois and #3 in the US for patient safety.
