2010 was an excellent year for Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. The hospital achieved strong financials, volumes, clinical quality, patient satisfaction and added innovative programs like the da Vinci surgical suite.

Since late July, surgeons at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital have been using robotic technology to perform urologic, colorectal and renal surgeries in a minimally invasive fashion with the addition of the da Vinci surgical suite.

Quality of care and service at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital was recognized in 2010 by Professional Research Consultants (PRC). The emergency department received a 2010 Top Performer Award from PRC, their highest honor. Five departments including the emergency department, outpatient, and outpatient radiology at 969, 1-West and pain management were PRC 5-Star Award winners for overall quality of care.

Considerable effort was made at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in 2010 to make our physical environment as peaceful and healing as possible. Many patient care areas received fresh coats of pain in calming colors.
